Forest End
Settled western suburb with family housing and access to Woodlands Walk
A residential neighbourhood on the western side of Waterlooville, named after the road of the same name. Forest End lies between the town centre and the open land stretching towards Denmead. The area was developed in stages during the twentieth century, with a mix of interwar semis, postwar council housing and later private estates. Forest End road itself runs westward from London Road, giving the area its name. The housing is mostly family-sized, with three-bedroom semis and detached houses predominating. The area has a suburban, residential feel, with mature gardens and tree-lined streets in the older sections. Forest End is within walking distance of the town centre shops and is served by bus routes along London Road. Woodlands Walk, a linear green space with mature trees, runs through the western part of the area and provides a pleasant walking route away from the traffic. The community is settled and largely owner-occupied.
