Jubilee Park and Local Green Spaces

Parks, playing fields and open spaces in Waterlooville

Jubilee Park is one of several green spaces within the built-up area of Waterlooville that provide recreation, exercise and fresh air for residents. The park includes playing fields, a children's play area, open grassland and paths that are used by walkers, joggers and dog walkers throughout the year. The park's location within the residential area makes it accessible on foot for many residents.

Beyond Jubilee Park, Waterlooville and its suburbs have a network of smaller green spaces, playing fields and recreation grounds that serve the local community. Cowplain Recreation Ground, Purbrook Heath and the open spaces around the newer housing developments all contribute to the provision of outdoor space. The allotments scattered across the area provide growing space for residents who want to cultivate their own fruit and vegetables.

The Woodlands Walk provides a wooded path that connects parts of the residential area, offering a green corridor through the suburbs. Several of the newer housing developments have included public open space as part of their planning conditions, though the quality and maintenance of these spaces varies.

The proximity of Queen Elizabeth Country Park and the South Downs means that Waterlooville residents have access to large-scale countryside within a short drive. However, the local parks and green spaces serve a different function, providing everyday outdoor space that can be reached on foot from the surrounding houses. Dog walking is one of the most common uses, and the parks are busiest in the early morning and late afternoon when owners exercise their pets before and after work.
