London Road
Street guide, Waterlooville
The historic main road running through the centre of Waterlooville and northward through Cowplain towards Horndean. London Road was the original route between Portsmouth and London via Petersfield, and Waterlooville grew up around it. The road carries heavy traffic and is lined with a mix of shops, services, takeaways, residential properties and commercial premises. In the town centre section, the road passes the entrance to Wellington Way and the shopping precinct. Further north through Cowplain, it becomes a busy suburban high street with its own parade of shops. London Road is the spine of the entire Waterlooville-Cowplain conurbation, and bus routes along its length connect the area to Portsmouth, Havant and the villages to the north.
