Tempest Avenue
Street guide, Waterlooville
A residential street in the Cowplain area, running through a neighbourhood of postwar housing. Tempest Avenue has semi-detached houses and some detached properties built during the 1950s and 1960s. The street takes its name from the military aircraft theme that characterises several roads in this part of Cowplain, reflecting the area's proximity to former military airfields. Front gardens, driveways and mature hedges give the road a settled, suburban appearance. The street is quiet and residential, seeing only local traffic. It connects to Padnell Road and other residential streets in the area, and is within walking distance of the Cowplain shops on London Road.
